We are biologically wired to focus on the negative

We have an amazing amount of insight into how the human brain works these days through modern brain research. It helps us know better what we’re talking about when we discuss the power of gratitude. One of the amazing things to discover is that if you have a bent toward negativity, it is not your fault. The brain is hard-wired to focus on the negative things in life because it’s tasked with finding a solution to them. It’s when we can’t find a solution or have a history of not being able to find solutions that the negativity can become a destructive pattern that we can’t get out of.

But be encouraged, the research also shows us that the hard-wiring of our brains isn’t set for life. There are specific, powerful things we can do to change the way our brains work on difficult or negative situations, and gratitude is one of them. Listen to learn what the research has revealed and how you can establish your own gratitude practices.

Your problems are not your problems. How you view them is your problem

We all have problems in life. Can we agree on that? Nobody has a charmed existence that is free from losses and hardships. But instead of recognizing that fact and moving on to a better place, many of us get stuck focusing on those things, labeling them as “problems” that are holding us back.

Here’s the key thought you need to get: Your problems are not your problems. The way you THINK about your problems is your problem. This is a difficult nuance to communicate, so we encourage you NOT to stop with reading that statement - take the time to invest in yourself and your own ability to overcome the problems in your life by listening to this episode. You’ll discover how to adjust your thinking about your problems, learn to be grateful in the midst of your problems, and experience the transformation that comes as a result.

Gratitude brings energy to your life, so you can be your best self in any situation

Take a moment to think of the last time you were extremely happy. What was true of your mindset and your attitude in that experience? There is no doubt that you were thinking about the wonderful qualities of the experience or situation. Your mind was focused on the things you were grateful for, the things you were enjoying. That realization opens the door to this amazing discovery: Gratitude brings a very powerful energy to your life.

That means that even in the darkest situations we can all tap into the power of gratitude to infuse ourselves with the energy we need to deal with what’s happening. We’re not talking about closing our eyes to the reality of what’s going on or sugar coating problems. We’re talking about finding the things in the situation that you can be grateful for, the things that are good in your life right then, in spite of the situation. We encourage you to listen to this episode to find out more.

You can create your own emotional motivation through the power of gratitude

All of us struggle with motivation. Right? Whether it has to do with eating habits, exercise routines, or even developing and sticking with gratitude practices, motivation to do the things that are good for us comes and goes. But what IF you could influence the amount of motivation you have? Would you be interested?

In this episode we discuss a way that you CAN influence the amount of motivation you have to do the things you really want to do in life - it can happen through the power of gratitude. When you are truly grateful, you create emotional energy and motivation. That gives you the added “boost” needed to get started and keep going when all else fails. And the more you practice gratitude, the more powerful it becomes to your motivation. Listen to learn more about how the power of gratitude is real and can be utilized to fuel your own personal transformation.
