Several people come to the Transformation Club because they want to learn how to increase energy levels. Their number one complaint is that they don’t have energy. What so many people don’t realize is that you don’t have energy, you create energy. On this episode, Justin and I will go over many ways that you can naturally increase your energy level. Spoiler alert: it’s not by using caffeine! If you want to learn what you can do to improve how you feel and create your own energy then check out episode 34 of the Transformation Show

Get the right amount of sleep

So many people skip out on sleep. They think they can get by on 4-6 hours of sleep and still live their best life. But if you are not sleeping enough your body can’t repair itself. Your hormones can’t balance correctly and you won’t wake up feeling rested. Sleep is when your transformation happens. You can survive on caffeine all day long, but that’s not the right kind of energy. Everyone is different, but you should plan between 7-9 hours of sleep each night.

Creating the right amount of energy starts with getting the proper nutrition

When you don’t get enough sleep you crave more carbohydrates and more sugar to keep the energy going throughout the day which causes your nutrition to be off. And that is how the blood sugar roller coaster begins. The more simple carbohydrates you have the faster your blood sugar will go up and the faster it will crash and then you’re on the blood sugar roller coaster all day long. You can avoid the blood sugar roller coaster by eating protein at every meal which helps maintain the right amount of protein in your diet. Eating enough protein helps to stabilize your blood sugar levels. Check out episode 33 on total nutrition to help you understand what you should be eating.

Increase energy levels with proper exercise

Consistent exercise will also help you increase energy levels. It is important to remember to exercise appropriately. Make sure that you feel energized after your exercise, this will ensure that it is an appropriate level of exercise for you. Think about your exercise routine. Do you feel energized afterward or drained? If you feel drained then it’s time to make a change.

What’s your state of mind?

In episode 21, we talked about the 2 states of being. There is the suffering state and the beautiful state. If you are existing in a suffering state your energy levels will be low. In the beautiful state, you’ll experience a higher energy level. Think about where you spend the bulk of your day. Does your job cause you suffering? If your work and personal environment are creating unhappiness then this can really affect your energy levels. Think about what you can do to create a beautiful state in your life to increase your energy levels.
